Tyres & Accessories magazine has published its annual ranking of global tyre manufacturers, with Bridgestone topping the chart.
The yearly survey takes the turnover of the industry’s leading players into account, as well as operating profit/EBIT(DA) and annual net income.
The rankings show little change from 2014 at the top of the chart, with more substantial changes happening amongst the smaller operations.
Bridgestone was named the sector’s largest company, with a 2014 turnover of €25.2 billion (AUD$36.1 billion).
Despite a fall in sales, Michelin maintained its position in second with €19.5 billion (AUD$27.9 billion). Goodyear slotted in third, ahead of Continental, Pirelli and Hankook.
Sumitomo, Yokohama, Maxxis and Cooper Tyres rounded out the top ten. Cooper was the only change to last year’s top ten standings, after jumping three spots with an increase of turnover from €2.4 billion (AUD$3.4 billion) to €2.8 billion (AUD$4 billion).
